A digital platform celebrating the breakthroughs that move cancer research forward.

The King Hussein Cancer Foundation set out to establish a regional award recognizing excellence in cancer research. We built the digital platform behind it, first as a public-facing home for the award, then as a complete application and evaluation system where KHCF can accept submissions, coordinate review committees, and manage the judging process end to end.
KHCF was launching a first-of-its-kind award to recognize cancer research across the region, but had no digital infrastructure to support it. They needed a platform that could present the award to potential applicants, accept and organize submissions from candidates across multiple countries, and support a structured evaluation process involving committees and jurors.
We scoped the work in two phases. First, a public-facing website to establish the award's presence and open applications. Second, a backend application evaluation system and committee management toolset, giving KHCF's team the ability to process submissions, assign reviewers, and track evaluations through to final recommendations.
Built on Drupal 9 with AWS and MySQL, the platform includes an advanced content management layer for the public site, a custom application evaluation system that handles the full submission lifecycle, and committee management tools that let KHCF coordinate jurors and track review progress. The architecture was designed to support the award's growth as it scales across future cycles.
KHCF now runs the full award lifecycle, from promotion to application to evaluation, on a single platform. What would have been a fragmented process of emails, spreadsheets, and manual coordination is now a streamlined digital workflow that scales with the award's ambition.
